Denver Brakes Repair
Mile High Denver Auto Repair is a leading provider of automobile brake service to Denver Colorado area residents. The company regularly reviews published automobile industry reports in order to compile and release information to benefit its customers and the car driving public.
Brake issues are a common theme requiring attention from time to time. Brake noise is a noticeable symptom that can mean various things ranging in importance from high to low. A list of brake related items follows below with some information to suggest the proper course of action. In case of any doubt it’s always best to have a qualified automobile technician check the vehicle.
1. Squealing: A continuous squealing noise while driving and not necessarily applying the brakes could be an indication that the brake pads need replacing. In such cases it’s important to have the car checked by a mechanic as soon as possible. If the noise occurs when applying the brakes the recommendation is the same … have the car checked.
2. Grinding Sound: Some drivers may notice a deep grinding noise when applying the brakes or just driving along. This condition requires immediate attention for repairs or should be removed from service. Potential brake failure due to worn out brake linings or from wheel bearing failure is serious.
3. Brake Pedal Going to Floor: This is another type of occurrence that requires immediate attention. Keep in mind that a vehicle without safe braking ability should not be driven, but only towed to a repair facility for attention.
4. Red Brake Light On: When the brake light comes on drivers need to pay attention. Once again this is an item that requires immediate attention. Brakes that do not ‘feel right’ should give drivers pause about driving the vehicle. In such cases it’s better (and safer) to have the car towed to the repair shop.
5. Low Brake Fluid: A brake hydraulic system is a closed system so there should not normally be more than slight fluctuations in the fluid level. If fluid is low due to a leak then this problem can impair braking ability and can lead to brake failure. Service and repair is required immediately.
