Mile High Denver Auto Repair

As a leading provider of car repair services in Denver, Mile High Denver Auto Repair regularly compiles and releases information to benefit the car buying public. These days many people in the car driving public are interested in becoming better, greener drivers. To this end we list several tips in the list below to observe:

1) Reduce the Load. If there are items in your car that are not essential to carry then remove them. Reducing the weight of the vehicle can lessen the load on the engine and proportionately lower emissions.

2) Check the Tires. Air inflation and the condition of tires also affect how the vehicle performs. To illustrate the point the EPA estimates that properly inflated tires can improve mileage by as much as 3%. At proper inflation levels emissions are not only lowered but so are fuel expenses.

3) Be Aware of Driving Behavior. Efforts to preserve driving momentum can also bring drivers’ behavior more in line with environmentally friendly practices. Jack rabbit starts from traffic lights, for example, are notorious for their inefficient use of fuel.

4) Consider Fuel Efficiency in Car Purchases. There are a range of criteria to be considered when buying a new or pre-owned vehicle for personal use. Fuel efficiency ratings for respective makes and models are published and if not absolute indicators are at least accurate to provide a relative benchmark when comparing potential car purchases.

5) Car pool and Combine Trips. Whether for camaraderie or access to HOV lanes car pooling can be an effective strategy for reducing the environmental impact of automobiles. Car pooling may require a little extra planning in the organization stages but can make a big impact over the long term.

6) Reduce Days in the Office. If possible negotiate a four day work week at the office to reduce the need for traveling by one day a week (and around 50 days per year). Working four 10 hours days per week or spending one day per week working from home might be something to discuss with an employer.

7) Telecommute Entirely. Take the preceding point a step further and work from home every day. Telecommuting is a growing trend and for some workers it’s a viable alternative with a computer and internet connection.

About Colorado

Colorado is a state of the United States of America that is located mostly in the Rocky Mountain Range of North America. Colorado can also be considered to be part of the Western States or the Southwestern States of the United States. In infrequent instances eastern Colorado is considered to be part of the Midwestern United States (since that part of the state is located on the Great Plains.)

Colorado was admitted to the Union in the year 1876, and hence it is nicknamed the "Centennial State", since that year was the centennial of the Declaration of Independence. Colorado is bordered to the north by Wyoming and Nebraska, to the east by Kansas and Nebraska, to the south by New Mexico and Oklahoma, to the west by Utah, and at just one geographical point, at its southwestern corner by Arizona. Colorado is one of very few purely rectangular states - ones whose borders are strictly parallels of latitude and meridians of longitude. (The other one is its neighbor, Wyoming.)

Colorado is prominent for its scenery of mountains, plainslands, rivers, and a western area of desert. The Rocky Mountains of Colorado have 50 or more peaks with elevations of 14,000 feet or higher above sea level - far more than any other state. Colorado is the home of the Rocky Mountains National Park, and of numerous National Monuments and National Forests.
The U.S. Census Bureau estimated that the state population was 5,024,748 on July 1, 2009, an increase of about 16.8% since the 2000 U.S. Census. Denver is the capital city of Colorado, and it is also the most populous city of Colorado. Residents of Colorado are properly known as "Coloradans" although the archaic term "Coloradoan" is still occasionally used.

Colorado has the highest average elevation of any of the 50 states. Also, the elevation of the lowest point in Colorado is higher than the lowest points of any other states. This lowest point is found where the Arkansas River flows from Colorado into Kansas, at an elevation of about 4,000 feet above sea level. Colorado information source: Wikipeida.org
