Auto Repair in Denver
Mile High Denver Auto Repair
For auto repair in Denver, Colorado there are a number of facilities to choose from. Some people have their vehicles serviced at the dealership where they purchased them, some service them near where they live, and others find it convenient to service their cars close to work.
Cars, just like people, need “check-ups” and regular attention to ensure they stay in good operating condition. In fact, many mechanics will tell you, when repair is done it’s often because of an owners’ neglect of basic care and maintenance items. It’s surprising how attention to just the routine maintenance items like changing the oil and filter can have such a dramatic effect on your car’s performance. An automobile owner’s manual provides the best guideline of items that will keep your car running great. Routine maintenance checks and attention to the owner’s manual are a good combination.
In Colorado, especially if driving habits include winter season driving in the mountains, cold weather conditions can be hard on engines. Giving your car the attention it needs becomes even more important to avoid being stuck along a freezing cold roadside.
Many of the major automobile manufacturers advise customers to service their cars with a lube, oil & filter change and/or inspection every 3000 miles. The recommendations may vary according to the automobile make and model. At the first 3000 miles other recommendations may include a chassis lube, air filter inspection, checking fluids, hoses and belts, tire pressures, and any other items listed in the owner’s manual.
At 6000 miles many manufacturers recommend another lube, oil and filter change. Typically tires are rotated, brakes inspected, and a check is done on the fuel system. At 15,000 miles car manufacturers may recommend to have the air filter, lube, oil and filter change performed, plus a 4-wheel alignment. At 18,000 an engine oil system flush is done. At 30,000 miles there’s an air and fuel filter change, injector cleaning and throttle body service, tire rotation and balancing, a power steering flush, automatic transmission flush, radiator system flush, and evaporator system flush, and items of this nature. These are some general guidelines. Bear in mind that your car’s specific guidelines are published by its manufacturer and listed in the owner’s manual.
